After GANGAJAL, Prakash Jha is ready to spin another socially relevant tale set against the backdrop of Hindi heartland - Bihar. This time the story concerns a grave and horrendous crime like kidnapping which is fast booming up in Bihar and lending patronage to this business are the makers of the law - the politicians and the police.
Pitted against these social and political circumstances is Ajay Shastri (Ajay Devgan), a young man with small dreams and simple hopes. All he wants to do is to become a police officer and make his father, Professor Raghuvansh Shastri (Mohan Agashe), a proud man and to lead a life of bliss and happiness with Megha (Bipasha Basu), whom he loves. But his dreams are obstacled because of certain choices made by his father, who is a deeply principled and conscientious man.
APAHARAN will be Prakash Jha's another movie in the league of GANGAJAL, which paints the political and social turmoil in Bihar in a realistic fashion. The film stars Ajay Devgan (his second film with the ace filmmaker after GANGAJAL), Bipasha Basu, Mohan Agashe and Nana Patekar in pivotal roles.
